"In this cooperative game, you and other players take on classic adventurer roles and charge deep into the monster's lair. Kill enough monsters and become legendary heroes! Fail too often and you become a cautionary tale..."
Each player has six dice while the rest are the dice pool representing the monster. Low valued dice are not a part of the monster. Players decide and declare what role they will be - bard, wizard, warrior, etc. Then they roll their dice. They then remove monster dice if they can match the dice per their role's abilities. If they defeat the monster (i.e. the monster has no more dice), the group earns a point. If there are dice remaining though, the monster deals one point damage per die remaining. If the group can get 5 points before they get 5 damage points, they win. If neither of these have been hit, take another round. If the party ever gets 5 points of damage though - well, the tales told in the taverns won't be happy ones...
