Communism versus the Free World. The West stands
With South Vietnam against the Marxist North,
As Viet Cong and NVA swarm out of hand,
War in fields, jungle, and mountains break forth.
Charlie uses guile and numbers: AK47’s,
Punji traps, mines and tunnels are his trade,
America with troops and aggression,
Napalm, tanks, shells, Hueys above the glade.
Battles on the ground, men fight and some fall,
With wounds that must be treated quick and fast,
The medics advance, they hear their mates call,
To take them to Dust-off choppers downblast.
Understand history with a simple game,
Roll the iron dice and win yourself some fame.
FIRST...
You will take on the role of a commander in the Vietnam War. You will lead your men from section to company level in 8 scenarios based on historical battles from 1963 to 1970. You will have to use all of the weapons and equipment to achieve victory. If you play the USA/ARVN/Austrialians you have at your disposal infantry, artillery, armor (full range from M113 to M67), and air support (full range of helicopters and planes). You will have to use these assets wisely to defeat the enemy in a landscape of paddy fields, villages, jungle, plantations & mountains it calls home. If you play the VC/NVA you have large numbers of infantry, mortars, mines, punji traps, tunnels and trenches, all to be used with guile.
SIMULTANEOUSLY...
You will also take on the role of medics in the Vietnam War. You will have to treat your wounded under fire and evacuate the casualties, applying Triage methods to dictate the order of treatment. Medics in the Vietnam War faced many challenges. They had to work in dangerous and often hostile environments, but despite these challenges, medics performed their duties with courage and dedication. They saved countless lives.
AND SO...
Are you ready to take on both the role of a commander and a medic in the Vietnam War? Win your fire fight, and get your wounded treated?
