Set your course and compete against your fellows in this fast, high-tension racing game.
At the start of each Round, an Event card is drawn and the Wind direction dial adjusted. Players then, secretly, set their die to a chosen value (unless they collided in the previous round, in which case they MUST set it to 1) and put it adjacent to appropriate side of their own Compass Rose: this is their speed and direction of movement.
Players reveal simultaneously and:
- adjust their speed according to the Wind Direction dial (sailing with the wind gives you a boost while sailing against it slows you down), and
- move the adjusted number of spaces in their chosen direction
Should a player move onto an obstacle space - or sail off the edge of the map - they have 'collided'; if more than one player ends in the same space, they must also check for a collision. Colliding means you have to set the lowest speed in the next Round.
Rounds continue until one player has successfully completed a circuit of the map and crossed the finishing line; if there is a tie, their finishing speed will determine the winner.
Island Racing comes with two race maps: The Isle of Wight and The Isles of Scilly.
