France Rails is the next incarnation that uses the same Turn Order mechanism found in the previous games in this series, namely Preußische Ostbahn, then German Railways and now Prussian Rails by Rio Grande.
French Rails provides 8 railroads, each having a special ability or limitation, based upon the history of that railroad. The names of the railroads are simply the name of the city where they begin the game. This is due to the ever shifting mergers, bankruptcies and takeovers found in the history. No single railroad kept the same name from beginning to end!
The game accommodates 3-5 players and takes less than an hour for experienced players. When all railroads have connected to at least two other railroads, or that is determined to be impossible, the game is over. The player with the most cash wins, as stocks are just tools to generate money.
