Frontline General: Spearpoint 1987 is a new standalone modern combat card wargame from veteran designer James M. Day (Panzer, 88, Armor, MBT, IDF, Kaiser’s Pirates, and a host of computer games to his credit) and system designer Byron Collins of Collins Epic Wargames (the publisher).
The basic Spearpoint 1943 card-based system is applied to a near-modern 1987 European hypothetical conflict setting between the US and USSR, drawing from Jim Day's expertise on cold war era US and Soviet military equipment. This game includes Command, Unit, and Damage Cards, dice, tracking counters, rules and scenarios, and is expected to be released in 2012.
Box Art by Mark Mahaffey is coming soon with additional previews and information to follow.
