Malkyrs: Arenas of Eternity is a collectible card game, with elements of role-playing and timing allowed by the use of computers/phones and wireless technology.
Each card contains a RFID chip, which is recognized either by a proprietary reader or a smartphone app, and allows it to keep track of:
its current Health, Might, Intelligence and Strength levels;
its learned Skills;
its Evolutions (by using "Favor" points);
which implies that two physically identical cards can be different in-game depending on their playing history.
The game itself focuses on a main Champion card, which embodies the player as it casts Action cards to bring its oppenent's Health total to 0.
Playing these Actions has an element of timing, as a computer app keeps tracks of player turns, which by default last 30 seconds; some effects can alter this total, or some cards have different effects depending on how soon/late they have been cast.
Each victory grants Glory points, which are tracked by the app, and can be reinvested as Favor points to upgrade cards (see above). The app also allows to play online.
