At the beginning of a round, the First Out card is set aside for later use and players are dealt the remaining cards. Players place face-up on the table all the food pairs found in their hands. On their turn, players draw a random card from the player on their left. If the card matches a card in their hand, they place the matching pair face-up on the table. Play continues until a player has matched all the cards in his hand. The first player to do so takes the First Out card. After the first player goes out, play continues until all pairs are matched and a single player holds The Beef card. Each matching pair is worth either 1, 2, or 3 points. The pair of Clara Peller cards is worth 5 points, the First Out card is worth 8 points and The Beef card is worth 10 points.
The player who scores the most points at the end of 3 rounds wins.
