"Italia", as a Campaign wargame, can last from July 1943 until May 1945.
The game has three game rule level components – Fundamental, Basic, and Advanced with additional optional rules for Basic and Advanced levels.
There are several scenarios starting with operation "Husky," the invasion of Sicily. Other scenarios are: "Avalanche," the invasion of the Italian mainland; Diadem, the battle for Monte Cassino; and the Gothic Line battles in northern Italy. Some scenarios have alternate ending dates depending upon the level of reaction forces of the Axis and the level of force commitment of the Allies. Players can be from 2 – 4. "Husky" works well with 3 players and "Diadem" works well with 4 players. Game victory is determined by obtaining geographic goals by certain dates (see the Advance Game Time Record).
