This game uses a simulation system ("Navíos de línea") to recreate naval combat in the period from 1740 to 1815, both at a tactic and strategic level. In the tactical system players control individual ships on a blue grid. In the strategic system, players control squads on an board showing all the Atlantic.
WARNING: All game components are in Spanish!
The tactical game used to recreate the naval battle of Trafalgar uses the following sequence:
1. Determine initiative
2. Combat: First, the player with the initiative fires cannons, and then the player without the initiative (although damage is applied simultaneously)
3. Movement: First the player without the initiative, then the one with it.
4. Crew actions and surrender: Boardings, Sinkings and Surenders are resolved.
The strategic game uses another sequence:
1. Initiative
2. Meteorology: Climate and Wind
3. Strategic Movement: Squad composition, Sightings, Persecutions
4. Tactical Movement
5. Adjustment phase: delay of strategic orders.
6. Repairs
Included in the box are:
-Rigid Gameboard (126 x 64 cm), printed on both sides for tactical and strategic maps.
-60 cardboard figures of the ships that participated in the battle.
-180 sails to be mounted on the ships (plus 24 extras)
-Historical Notes which include a replay of the historical battle.
-Rules of play and 150 cardboard mounted markers.
-60 plastic bases for the ships, a vane, and a 6 sided die.
