レディファースト (Lady First) is a shedding game from Japan, with each card controlling which successive cards may be played.
The game has a romantic theme, with one set of red cards themed for a woman, and a blue set for a man. Each cards carries various romantic lines (all in Japanese), that the players ought to speak as they play, such as
"Don't let me go"
"I'm glad to see you"
However, the game is designed for any adult players, not simply opposites.
The red deck has 12 cards numbered from 1 to 12 (and this player starts), the blue deck has 11 cards from 2 to 12. If the blue player can get the red player to play all 12 of their cards first, blue wins. Otherwise, blue loses.
On their turn, a player may draw one card from their deck, up to a hand limit of five, or play a card to the table.
Along the bottom of each card is a set of numbers, one for blue and one for red. These say what card can be played after this card. For example, the blue 5 can be followed by a blue 2,3,4 and 6 or by a red 4 or red 6-12.
As players go through their deck, they must carefully decide which cards to hold and which to play, in order to push more cards out of their opponent's hand.
